Led by staff of Melbourne Water, WCS was one of 220 organisations involved in developing this Strategy for the Port Phillip and Westernport region.  We welcomed this new, collaborative approach to planning.  Our Committee members attended many community consultation workshops and working party meetings, and also made written submissions on draft targets, focussing on the Yarra River and our local tributaries. The result is a long-term vision supported by goals, 10-50 year targets and 10-year performance objectives. The document includes quantifiable metrics assessing the current status of the Catchment, allowing for ongoing measurement to assess whether targets are met.
