WCS opposed the development of a function centre at this iconic property on the Banyule Flats escarpment. Our environmental concerns were the loss of trees and habitat, the impact of car park and water tanks on the view from the Flats, potential run-off into Banyule Creek, and the effect of noise and lighting on local wildlife. We joined forces with Banyule Council, local residents (BERG), Friends of Banyule, and the Heidelberg Historical Society to oppose the planning application.
