On June 3rd, on behalf of Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum, Environment Justice Australia is taking VicForests to Federal Court to help save the critically endangered Leadbeater’s Possum and the threatened Greater Glider from extinction. Despite being protected under federal environment law, the habitat of threatened species has continued to be logged in Victoria because of Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs) between State and Federal Governments. RFAs allow logging to bypass national environment laws and push iconic Australian species like the Swift Parrot, Leadbeater’s Possum, the Koala, the Redtailed Black Cockatoo, and the Greater Glider closer to extinction. If the court case wins it can set a national precedent to protect threatened wildlife across the country. You can help by donating to put an end to the destruction of our forests and save the wildlife we love. Contact: This email address is being protected from spambots.
